Gaile Maddigan

Coming from a musical family, Gaile Maddigan started singing and playing the piano at a young age.  She later picked up a bit of guitar, then moved on to fiddle (both supplied by her father, Lloyd “Boots” Langille) and later Celtic harp.  As a long time member of the Lunenburg County Fiddlers, she has taken on different roles, including teaching fiddle and keyboard, leading slow jams, and more recently has become Music Director. She has also composed several of her own tunes, including Fiddle and Roses Waltz, recorded by Keith Ross.  Gaile likes a variety of styles of music, especially Celtic, having studied music at the Gaelic College in Cape Breton a week each summer for a number of years.  She can sometimes be found playing as part of the mostly celtic duo “Goode & Madd” with her friend, Darby Goode.    Gaile lives in Martins River NS with her husband, Rob and dog, Sammy.

Here you can listen to Gaile playing the Cheticamp Jig accompanied by Nancy MacMillan on keyboard.
