The Lunenburg County Fiddlers Club was formed in 1988 to get local musicians together simply to have fun playing fiddle tunes, but also to provide instruction in fiddle playing and to promote Down East style fiddle music.

Although the club, in recent years, has broadened its scope by embracing various fiddle styles and traditions and by promoting local tunes-smiths, the traditional Down East style remains our main focus.

A typical evening includes a brief business meeting, a one-hour instructional period, often a separate slow jam with beginning musicians, and a one-hour jam session. We try to provide an enjoyable evening for all, regardless of experience or expertise. The regular Tuesday night session are always a hit with members and visitors, and the club continues to delight audiences with lively, toe-tapping performances at local fairs and exhibitions, variety shows, and seniors’ homes.

Most members play the fiddle while others play guitar, mandolin, bass, piano or other acoustic instruments. All ages and skill levels are always welcome. Bring your acoustic instrument and join us for a night or two or become a member. We’d love to have you.
